The Contract Negotiator is a highly responsible, senior level position within the Procurement Department leading complex negotiations resulting from the City's procurement process for a wide variety of contracts for the acquisition of goods and services impacting all areas of the organization. The Contract Negotiator is the primary liaison between the Procurement Department and the City Attorney's Office for all contracting matters. The position also assists departments with contract compliance matters, and develops contract and solicitation templates.
The successful candidate must have strong customer focus and team/interpersonal skills that promotes a harmonious and productive work environment within a diverse workforce.

•Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, contract law or related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
•Prior work experience in contract negotiation. Public sector experience is preferred.
•Certification is preferred -- Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Commercial Contracts Manager.
•Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
•A WRITING TEST IS REQUIRED.
