Job Description

Job Purpose: Assist the Acquisition Support Manager in the coordination and management of purchasing activities for the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Ensure compliance with established Federal, State and Institute policies. Major Responsibilities: Process Requisitions within the Georgia Tech Procurement system in a timely manner and monitor status to ensure Purchase Order is released within time-frame to meet project schedules. Review procurement activity to monitor conformity with purchasing best practices and compliance with Federal, State, and Institute policies and procedures. Monitor Georgia Tech Research Institute open commitments and close outstanding balances as appropriate. Assist in the preparation of documentation such as bid requirements, scope of work, sole source justification, and price reasonableness for Georgia Tech Research Institute procurements and procurement plan for large project procurements. Conduct data analysis and prepare reports on vendor spend, purchasing trends, etc. Liaison with Georgia Tech Purchasing to resolve issues related to Georgia Tech Research Institute purchases. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations, Accounting, Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Work Experience: Four to five years job related experience Certifications: N/A Skills: This job requires: Knowledge of State of Georgia / Department Of Administrative Services Purchasing Regulations; project management skills; strong communication, organizational, analytical, presentation, and problem solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and basic knowledge of office related computer applications. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Preferred Work Experience: N/A Preferred Certifications: May require ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance. Preferred Skills: Preferred knowledge and skills associated with this job include: Federal procurement experience and project management skills with an acquisition program.
