NIGP Knowledge Communities

NIGP Knowledge Communities provide members who share common interests an opportunity to connect and share pertinent information as well as best practices. This professional connection empowers professionals by increasing their effectiveness and ability to support the publics they serve. These member-exclusive programs include dedicated list serves, live webinars, and topical face-to-face conferences covering issues most relevant to the knowledge communities’ needs.

Knowledge Communities exist to:

  • Share information, success, best practices, and challenges
  • Provide a forum to share ideas and solutions
  • Enable year-round networking

NIGP currently hosts the following knowledge communities:

  • eProcurement
Do you want to share information on eProcurement practices, policies and procedures or learn how others are using technology to support the success of their operations? This is the community for you!
  • Green
NIGP’s Green Knowledge Community is established to bring together subject matter experts and practitioners to develop, disseminate and promote information and resources for and about policy development, environmentally preferable products, and social and economic responsibility in public procurement.
  • K-12
Do you work in K-12 public education? Want to know how other school districts are tackling the latest challenge? Join this community!
  • PREP (PROCUREMENT’s RESPONSE TO EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS)
PREP allows member agencies to develop partnerships with other member agencies to assist in times of emergency. Your partner will be there to provide immediate prearranged assistance to public purchasing personnel during pre and post emergencies in order to ensure public health, safety and continuity of government.
  • Student Community
Learn more about the procurement profession and network with other members by joining this community.

INTERESTED IN JOINING?
Participation in the knowledge communities is free to all NIGP national members. There is no limit to how many communities you may participate in and signing up is relatively easy. Just click on the community name link that you would like to join and follow the “join” instructions.

THINKING ABOUT A MORE ACTIVE ROLE?
The Knowledge Communities are led by your peers, who are experiencing the same challenges, opportunities, and issues you face. The community leaders strive to ensure the relevance of topics presented will foster learning and the exchange of ideas among all members. If you would like to learn more about serving as a community leader, please contact fjackson@nigp.org
