The following agencies are taking contributions for those affected by Katrina. Please understand that NIGP does not endorse or recommend giving to any specific relief organization. Please review and evaluate all giving opportunities thoroughly.

Catherine Link, Director of Purchasing for the County of McHenry, IL, and an NIGP member, is collecting checks and gift cards for NIGP’s Mississippi and Louisiana chapters. All proceeds collected will be distributed to the membership by those chapters. Donations will also be used to fund chapter requirements, as these chapters are unable to conduct their normal fundraising efforts this year.

Ms. Link anticipates sending the first shipment of checks and cards to the chapters in early October. If you are interested in participating, please make your check payable to the Mississippi Association of Governmental Purchasing Property Agents (MAGPPA), the Louisiana Chapter of NIGP or the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of NIGP. All contributions for this effort should be sent to:
